An Article in the Independent.ie, October 2019

In this interview by Kathy Donaghy, Patricia Danaher talks about her own experience of miscarriage and the heartbreak of several failed IVF attempts, and how that led her to look again at a unique Japanese way of grieving the unborn.  Now she hopes that the practice could spread from Japan to the West, to provide comfort to those who experience the loss of a baby in pregnancy.

Her organization, “Rituals for the Living” provides a route to dealing with grief.

Shattered Conception Podcast, August 2019

This podcast is part of a series led by Dr. Ivy Love Margulies, who has created a resource for women suffering with grief from losing a child. Patricia recalls how she recognized the need for ritual and a place for people to put their grief after the loss of an unborn child.   When mourning the unborn,  the transformative powers of participating in ritual, not only for the mother but the extended family as well, often brings about a sense of peace and love,  taking the place of sadness or guilt.
