Seed and Flame Ritual Packages ©

The Seed and Flame Healing Ritual Packages© contain various elements to help you conduct your own ritual at home or at a place of your choosing. Everything you need to start your own living memorial is contained in these beautiful hand-made packages. Other items can be added at your discretion, but  you can immediately make the perfect living memorial to honor your loved one or a beloved pet in a permanent way that endures longer than the most beautiful flowers.

Each package contains a statue of Jizo, one of the most beloved of all Japanese archetypes. He is a loving entity who protects the dead while also soothing those who are grieving.

The scented candle hand-made by Patricia symbolizes the eternal flame which gives hope and provides light in the darkness. Use it as part of your ritual or on its own.

The seeds represent how life renews itself and is always changing and in flux. When you plant your seeds and tend to them, you are symbolically tending to the memory of your lost loved one. A variety of seeds are used; some will become comforting plants to smell, others are wonderful herbs to cook with.

The red ribbon represents your undying bond to your lost love one. Attach a piece to the statue and another piece to your wrist or key ring. Your memory is unbreakable and you can find comfort having it with you when you are away from home.

The wish paper is your invitation to write a wish or a prayer to your beloved. During your ritual you can invite others to add their own. You can repeat this as many times as you wish and that may give you continued comfort.

“It is my sincere hope that doing your own ritual at home, particularly in these frightening and often lonely times when we cannot be together can offer you some comfort and solace.”

We are pleased to present a new collection of Jizo statues for our latest Seed and Flame Healing Ritual Packages. The statues of Jizo with infant, small cat and dog paw print were all designed and produced by Los Angeles artist Luis Sanchez. The statues are made of solid molded urethane plastic, and are between 4.5” and 5” tall.

Born in 1968, Luis lived the first ten years of his life in Mexico City. His mother had very strong dreams of him as a sculptor during her pregnancy, and contemplated naming him Michelangelo. Today, Luis is best known for his intricate sculptures and realistic paintings melding participants with nature. Luis has prevailed over a lifetime of chronic kidney disease, years of dialysis, and two transplants. His  optimistic view of life as a gift has imbued all of his work with positive energy.  His discipline and the drive of someone who has gotten a third chance propel him to live life to the fullest, with an innate positive attitude that is inspiring and infectious.

"I lost my father in December, 2019. When Patricia approached me a few months later with this project, I immediately was drawn to it. I really loved the idea, the meaning, and the knowledge of the help these grief kits would provide. As I began to sculpt the final Jizo designs, my beloved cat of sixteen years, Raku, became very ill. I knew her time was coming, but was still not prepared for her passing in July, 2020. I find no coincidence in my participation in this project and her death at the same time. She was a very special pet, and I know her spirit is in every one of these figurines. “ ~ Luis Sanchez
